You're pure villainy!
[ Today, little Chloe is on her first official day of training for battle readiness... by herself. She's wearing Norma's costume for some reason (which is big on her, so it covers a bit more of her than usual) and her long hair is tied back in a ponytail, though even that is getting in the way at certain angles. She is actually using a plastic sword - being that she was ripped from home and can't use anything of her father's, and when she attempted to purchase a real sword to use, she pretty much got laughed right out of the store. :( ]

Hah! [ Swings at a dummy, which is basically pillows tied to a stick. ] Take that...! And have another, while you are at it~! ... ...

This is as ridiculous as my battle dress. Do swordsmen honestly get stronger like this?  A real opponent would be much more suitable. Would anyone laugh me out of this place if I asked...? [ Sighs and continues whacking pillows with a plastic sword. Anyone's free to train/pwn/taunt~ ]

[Luke is... well, he's respectful enough not to look at a young girl in an outfit like that, at least]

Sword training, huh?
2nd-Apr-2008 11:09 pm (UTC)
Oh, hello there! Yes, I am trying to become a knight like my late father.
2nd-Apr-2008 11:12 pm (UTC)
Hm, a knight... that's a nice goal.

[takes a couple steps towards her, motioning to her hair]

You know, pretty as it is to keep it elegant, for something training, I always found it a little more practical to tie my hair up higher. Well, before I cut it, anyway.
2nd-Apr-2008 11:15 pm (UTC)
[Oh Luke, you just horrified her with the end of your statement. Norma already tainted her with the future] O-oh no, you had to cut off all of your hair as well?!
2nd-Apr-2008 11:18 pm (UTC)
Mm, I didn't have to, really. I chose to. Ah... kind of spur-of-the-moment. I was making a promise to someone, that I'd change myself for the better, and, well, just my word wasn't really good enough anymore. So I thought, maybe if I used some kind of a symbol, and... [shrugs] Well, it seemed good at the time, anyway. [rubs the back of his neck]

Anyway... may I? [motions to her hair again]
2nd-Apr-2008 11:20 pm (UTC)
W-well... [Unties her hair, still looking nervous] ... I'm afraid to know what kind of situation will force me to lose my hair, but... please do be careful with it.
2nd-Apr-2008 11:22 pm (UTC)
[ruffles her hair playfully] That's for you to decide, if you ever want to. [combs his fingers through her hair a bit to straighten it up some before pulling it up considerably higher on her head than she had it before and holding out his other hand] I'll need that tie.
2nd-Apr-2008 11:28 pm (UTC)
Ah, yes. Here. [Hands it over] So cutting your hair was a symbol of change within you?
2nd-Apr-2008 11:30 pm (UTC)
[as he ties her hair up] Well, that's how I intended it, anyway. Or maybe it was a symbol of the fact that I'd try to change. Ah, there. [pulls back slightly] That's better. Should get in the way less when it's like this.
2nd-Apr-2008 11:35 pm (UTC)
Ah... thank you. It's... a bit tighter than what I'm used to, but that would... probably keep it out of my face better. ... I wonder. Some of my friends say I'm different in the future. If I cut my hair, would I have done that to change myself? They say I presently don't possess the right attitude for a warrior.
3rd-Apr-2008 12:05 am (UTC)
That might be it. But, cutting your hair or not cutting it doesn't have too much to do with having a warrior's attitude, I don't think. I mean, Asch's hair is still long, and Master Van didn't exactly have the shortest hair, either, he just tied it up.

Hm. I'm not sure if I know so much about the 'right attitude' for a warrior or whatever, but I think just wanting to become stronger is a good start. So you're not already the person they've seen you be in the future... so what? Go at your own pace, and find what you want to do for yourself. I'd say just your thoughts are enough for now.

[takes a couple steps away from her, then turns, drawing out a fairly beaten wooden sword] Hm. I've only ever tried to help train someone once, and he was another version of me. But I think I remember enough of my lessons with Master Van to at least give some early pointers, if you'd like.
3rd-Apr-2008 12:09 am (UTC)
Ah... yes. And thank you, I would appreciate that very much. You're quite kind, sir.... ... I forgot to ask your name. [Silly smile] My apologies!
3rd-Apr-2008 12:12 am (UTC)
Don't apologize. It's not like I offered it.

[bows slightly, then straightens up] Luke fon Fabre. And just 'Luke' is fine. And... you are, miss?
3rd-Apr-2008 12:17 am (UTC)
Don't be ridiculous. We nobles must show respect for everyone. I must refer to you as sir Fabre. And I am Chloe Valens. [Curtsy in the skanky dress] It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
3rd-Apr-2008 12:21 am (UTC)
Nice to meet you. [then laughs a little] I always found the whole nobility thing kind of stuffy, personally. I mean... I get I'd have to do it eventually, but for now, eh. I prefer informal.

Anyway... [holds up his sword in a loose defensive position] Let's see what you've got, huh? Come at me.
